Hey, y'all, grab a sweet tea & let's gossip...
Being a modern belle can leave you feeling a bit overwhelmed. You want to make meals for your family inspired by your momma's recipes. But you also want to change the world. Because let's face it, the South has a history we can't ignore when it comes to what happens when good people do nothing.
Make no mistake though, you can't fry chicken nor fight for social justice with a weak spirit and weary body. That's where Southern Girl Soapery comes in with a heaping helping of TLC.
My products are made in rural Arkansas. This hundred-year-old home-turned-workshop has roots that run deep. I source local honey as one of my star ingredients, and I blend our signature fragrances in house from pure plant essential oils.
"Love, love, love these products! I am a bar soap kind of girl, and these are some of the best you can buy." - Jennifer R.
My name is Stephanie Hamling, and when I brought Southern Girl Soapery to life back in 2012, I'd been making bath and body goodies for myself for over a decade. I'd also earned a BFA with a graphic design emphasis and had been doing freelance copywriting and photography. Those talents, combined with a warm heart for the best of southern culture, nurtured the business into what it is today, a celebration of strong, southern women.
I'm a firm believer in both indulgence and doing good. Over the years Southern Girl Soapery has supported local initiatives of CARTI, No Kid Hungry, Southern Poverty Law Center, and various schools and churches. Power in pearls!
Now that we've met, let's stay in touch! I like to send out an email every few weeks or so to catch y'all up on everything going on around here - new products, special events, and all that good stuff.
